New Yamaha bikes were showcased at the 2025 Auto Expo
At the ongoing Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, India Yamaha Motors has lined up an impressive array of bikes. The company is celebrating 40 years of its journey in the Asian subcontinent, which has featured many iconic motorcycles such as. Besides the FZ-S Hybrid with TFT kit, Yamaha showcased some new motorcycles that might be launched in India soon. Let’s take a look.
New Yamaha bikes were showcased at the 2025 Auto Expo
India Yamaha Motorcycles has set up a booth at Hall No. 6 at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. This is a special occasion for Yamaha as the brand celebrates 40 years of its journey in the Asian subcontinent. Yamaha has had great success in India with premium motorcycles like the RX100, RD350, FZ-150 and YZF-R15. All of these motorcycles grace the stage at Yamaha Pavilion.
Aside from the “blast from the past” display, Yamaha is also showcasing some of its global highlights. It is likely that some or most of these items will reach India where they have been teased and showcased time and again. Except for the Lander 250 ADV which was not officially shown.
Lander 250 ABS
Speaking of the Lander 250, it is a fully capable off-roader with proper off-road hardware. Long-travel suspension, large wire-spoke wheels, 245mm of ground clearance, highly tuned exhaust, and a simple chassis. It is powered by the same 249 cc single-cylinder engine as the now discontinued FZ-25.
Tenere 700
This is Yamaha’s most anticipated big bike launch in India. The Tenere 700 is powered by the same 73bhp, 67Nm 689cc engine as the R7, but packaged in a proper ADV motorcycle. High ground clearance, tall stance, sturdy underpinnings and other off-road hardware define the Tenere 700’s look.
YZF-R7
Yamaha has been teasing the R7 for some time and has been showing it to dealers. The possibility of the R7 launching in India is very strong. It is powered by a 689 cc liquid-cooled parallel twin engine generating 73 PS and 67 Nm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
MT-09 SP
Yamaha’s iconic Triple, the MT-09, features a 890cc liquid-cooled three-cylinder Crossplane engine with a distinctive sound. At the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, Yamaha is showcasing the MT-09 SP, which gets unique colours, premium suspension, Brembo brakes, additional electronics and a new smart key.
Alongside these vehicles, Yamaha also displayed its race-spec YZF-R1M MotoGP motorcycles, demonstrating its connection to motorsport. We can see Yamaha’s current crop of 300cc bikes like the R3 and MT-03 and 150cc motorcycles including the R15 and MT-15.
