Lando Norris’ Ferrari F40 crashes in Monaco: Watch video
Lando Norris’ Ferrari F40, valued at around $2.40 million, was recently involved in a crash in Monaco. The McLaren F1 driver was on holiday at the time and not behind the wheel. Widely shared video shows the rare supercar spinning out of control before hitting barriers, causing significant damage to its left rear. The Ferrari F40, one of only 1,311 produced between 1987 and 1992, is a highly prized collector’s car. Although Norris was seen driving it in Monte Carlo during a shopping spree in December, the identity of the driver at the time of the crash remains unknown.

The F40’s turbocharged engine, known for its massive power, may have contributed to the accident. Turbo lag, which delays power delivery, can easily catch drivers off guard. Fortunately, early assessments indicate that the car’s structure is intact, with damage limited to the left rear wheel and possibly the driver’s side rear wheel. Norris fans and Ferrari enthusiasts are eager to see this iconic supercar restored.
Ferrari F40
The Ferrari F40, launched in 1987, marked Ferrari’s 40th anniversary and was the last car endorsed by Enzo Ferrari before he passed away. With a lightweight carbon fiber and Kevlar body, a twin-turbo 2.9-liter V8 engine and a top speed of 323 km/h, the F40 is designed for pure performance. Its large rear wing and sleek, aerodynamic design emphasized its motorsport heritage and focus on speed.
Unlike modern supercars, the Ferrari F40 offers a raw driving experience by ditching power steering, ABS and advanced electronics. This clean design prioritizes performance over comfort. The F40’s minimalism and racing-inspired engineering make it a landmark in Ferrari history.
