Bharat Mobility Expo 2025: Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid debuts in India
Bharat Mobility Expo 2025: At the 2025 Auto Expo, Yamaha unveiled a range of exciting models, many of which are unlikely to make it to India. Still, the showcase highlighted the brand’s impressive engineering and innovation, serving as a reminder to cycling enthusiasts, especially millennials, of Yamaha’s technological excellence. The 2025 FZ-S Fi, India’s first hybrid motorcycle, is the main attraction at the Yamaha pavilion. The model shown is the high-spec DLX variant with the added power boost provided by the Integrated Starter Generator (ISG). For the uninitiated, the FZ-S Fi Hybrid is an entry-level touring bike aimed at the Asian market, featuring a 149cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine. The hybrid system improves acceleration from a standstill, improves fuel efficiency and helps reduce emissions, especially at lower revs when most pollutants are produced.
Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid: Engine Details and Hardware Tuning
As for the mechanicals, the 2025 Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid is powered by a 149cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that generates 12.2 bhp. maximum power and 13.3 Nm of torque, coupled with a five-speed gearbox. It features a mild hybrid assist system that temporarily boosts torque output, providing a power surge.

The suspension setup includes a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock with adjustable preload at the rear. The braking system consists of a 282 mm front disc and a 220 mm rear disc, both equipped with single-channel ABS. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends and has a curb weight of 139 kg.
Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid: Features
The 2025 Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid boasts a newly designed color TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity enabling features such as call and notification alerts, music control and an updated switchgear to control these features. In addition, the FZ-S Hybrid has LED indicators, traction control and single-channel ABS, increasing the safety factor of the model.

In terms of market rivalry, the Yamaha model is up against the Hero Xtreme 160R as well as the Bajaj Pulsar 150.
